Product Description: This is a 1 - page .pdf printable page formatted to look like an Instagram "Following" page. The top of the page has a circle in the upper, left-hand corner that teachers can use for student/ participant photos. (Students can bring in one of last year's school photos, or teachers can take a photo of students, print them, and tape or glue them over the printed circle.) There is also a small "Profile" box where students can write a short autobiography (it is similar to the profile that Instagram users create).
The middle section contains 7 boxes with a "Following" graphic on the far right. Students/ participants can write one thing that they like, like to do, etc. (or anything else teachers would like for them to write) in each box).
The bottom of the printable contains three graphics: a heart, a magnifying glass, and a small, one-story house (similar to a "Home" button icon). When I created the printable, I intended for students to write three things that they love next to the heart, three things that they want to learn in my class this year next to the magnifying glass, and three things about what they like to do at home next to the house graphic. (Teachers can, of course, have students write whatever they'd like or leave those areas blank.)
This printable is great for use as a 1st day of school "Getting to Know You" activity for students in grades 3 - adult/ college. I've used these kinds of printables in my classroom for years and both students and parents love to read them when I make a bulletin board out of them or post them on a wall of my classroom! Fellow teachers and parents often see them on the wall from the hallway and stop and read them.
These would also make good ice breaker activity sheets for college classrooms or teacher training sessions.
