This is a really fun project to start the year! It capitalizes on students' natural desire to communicate and their inherent curiosity about each other. Students in ELA, Drama, and or Speech classes are guided here in the fundamentals of successful interviewing skills and public speaking. I randomly assign students a partner, to reduce hurt feelings, but this is completely up to you. They prepare questions and take turns interviewing each other. Then, they plan and practice a brief (about three-minute) speech about their partner. Directions are simple and clear. Worksheets make things easy. A rubric makes grading transparent and easy for you!
