This product contains two handouts ideal for getting to know you activities during the first week of school.
Handout #1: This is a student search that contains 25 boxes with a phrase in it (ex. is wearing a watch, is an only child, plays an instrument). The purpose of this activity is for students to find a classmate who fits the description and write his/her name in the box. Whichever student gets "bingo" first is the winner! (Instructions on the handout are as follows: Find a person in the classroom who matches ONE of these descriptions. Write the person’s name in the box. You may only use a person’s name ONCE. The first person to get an entire row (diagonal, vertical, or horizontal) filled wins candy!)
Handout #2: This is a handout that allows students to explain their expectations of a teacher. The handout is separated into four quadrants. In the very middle of the paper is the phrase "A great teacher." Each quadrant contains one of the following words: is, does, says, does not. Therefore, students are able to define what a great teacher is, does, says, and does not do.
