Teaching children letters and numbers is a complex task that requires many different activities to get students to know and understand the beginning steps of learning to read.
There is a lot more to knowing letters than just to be able to recognize them on a notecard or be able to produce the sound, but the students must also be able to recognize the letter in a group of letters and associate the sound with pictures and objects.
This product will help your students learn, know, and own the letters in the alphabet so that they can build the foundational skills of reading. The pages in this pack are created for homework, small group centers as well as reinforcement. I have found that the best use is for homework so that parents can see that there is a lot more to just learning the alphabet than knowing the letters and the sounds that they make. A parent letter has been included in this pack to help explain this to parents.
CCSS aligned standards:
Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
