Product Description
Making Primary Sources Accessible: The Goal of Guided Highlighting.
Primary Sources provide a way to learn about past events directly from those with first hand knowledge; however, they can be the hardest resources to comprehend. Guided Highlighting provides a way for teachers to help students plug in synonyms for vocabulary beyond their level and archaic words that have faded from the lexicon.
These lessons contain a copy of short documents in their entirety or excerpts of the key parts for lengthy documents. The directions list what to say to students as you guide them through the activity. A comprehension section gives directions to point out the main ideas of the document.
This lesson includes a sensory figure activity for assessment purposes.
