This is an original play about the battle of Gettysburg. This play contains the information needed about this part of history and the material students will be learning about and need to know for the SOL, while incorporating an interesting story. The play is filled with real life characters and events. Each real life character has their own bio so students can feel more connected to the part that are representing. Both men, women, children, soldiers, civilians, Northerners, and Southerners are represented in this play. Each event or “scene” is based on an actual event from Gettysburg and each scene is very closely related to an actual events that took place. This play gives students the information they need on The Battle of Gettysburg in a new interesting way where they can become real life people who lived during the time and see through the eyes of someone who lived during The Battle of Gettysburg. They will connect to the story better through real life events and people, and through this they will relate more to the historic events of The Battle of Gettysburg. This play brings history to life and will allow students to have fun while learning.
