This bundle pack includes both of my Ghostly Go Fish Addition Games, with facts 0-10 and 11-18. You can save by purchasing the bundle pack instead of buying the 2 games separately!
This game is played the same way as the original “Go Fish” game, except players will work with addition.
This game can be played with 2 or more players. Shuffle the cards, and give each player 7 cards. The remaining cards can be placed in the middle of all players (in a neat pile or scattered). Players will look in their hands for addends that equal the same number. If there are any matches (ex: 4+2 and 5+1), the player will put the match down in front of him/her.
Next, the first player should ask for a card to match another in his/her hand (ex: If the player has 5+2, he/she would ask the next person, “Do you have any cards that equal 7?” If the next person has the needed card, he/she will give it to the person who asked for it. If not, he/she would say, “Go fish,” and the person would draw a card from the middle pile.
As matches are made, cards are put down. The first person to run out of cards is the winner.
Alternately, this game could be played as a memory game where cards are placed face down in rows. Each player would turn over 2 cards to see if they find addends that equal the same amount. If not, the cards are turned back over and the next person takes a turn. The person who collects the most matches wins the game.
Use as many or as few of the cards as you would like to fit your students’ needs.
This is great for developing math fact fluency and is Common Core aligned!
