Christmas Stocking Craft

These candy canes would make an ADORABLE addition to holiday programs!

As you read your favorite holiday books this Christmas, create these giant candy canes.  Start by cutting out the face piece, which has three little decorative lines on it. Color the cheeks red.  From there, students cut and glue connecting pieces, noting the number of dots or lines. Starting from the bottom of the candy cane, the piece with one dot connects to the piece with two dots. The face piece has three lines, which connects to pieces two and four.   The piece with five lines connects to the four dotted piece. The piece with the six dots connects to the five piece. Students may not need the numbered visuals, but it will help the teacher to assist students.

Book companions to go along with this holiday craft include, but certainly are not limited to the following:

Llama, Llama Holiday Drama

Pete the Cat Saves Christmas

It's Christmas, David!

Bear Stays Up for Christmas

Merry Christmas, Splat!

The Biggest Christmas Tree Ever

Polar Express

Who'll Pull Santa's Sleight Tonight?

Let’s Get Krafty!

Krazy for Kindyland crafts are created for students ages preschool through third grade.  Products are designed with efficiency in mind, as I certainly understand the KrAzY schedule of a teacher!  Craft pieces are also designed to use as much paper space as possible, as conservation is another constant thought on the busy teacher’s mind.  Depending on the craft, you might choose to slightly enlarge the pieces based on the needs and ages of your students, the time of the school year you complete the craft, and/or your preferences.  It is helpful to have students lay out their plan before gluing.

Krazy for Kindyland crafts are compiled into value packs, so be sure to check those out before purchasing individual products among the same theme.
