Documenting the Roots of Your Family: Project #15. This is one project from a 1/2 year long unit, "Physical Roots, Cultural Roots, and You!" unit, also available for download, perfect for home or at school. This project should take about an hour a day for two weeks, and is intended for guiding gifted or advanced students between ages 10 - 14 toward mastery of 21st Century Skills.
***WHAT WILL STUDENTS LEARN, UNDERSTAND AND DO?
Students will learn about their own family history and how to create a scrapbook or documentary to preserve and honor that culture through our introduction video, slide, and independent research with graphic organizers included. All prep work is done for you! Complete and ready to go!
The project pages lead students through the acquisition and application process with plenty of room for differentiation, particularly for our gifted learners. The guiding question for this project is "How can I document and preserve the roots of my family?"
**WHAT WILL BE INCLUDED IN MY DOWNLOAD?
- Intro video from me, just like a teacher would introduce a new lesson
- Slides I created to give some necessary background information
- Project pages with step by step suggestions and graphic organizers
- Rubric so students and parent/teacher know exactly what is expected
- Engaging learning through gifted, 21st Century, and core subject standards
All of our projects and units are built on a gifted enrichment model of project-based learning. Check out our helpful videos and blog on our Ingenious Curriculum website.
I would really appreciate a positive rating if this is helpful!
