A month long unit of gingerbread fun with these fun reading, writing, and math activities that align with CCSS!
Begin December with Gingerbread Fred and Gingerbread Sally, two take home friends for students to write about. These gingerbread friends are just like Flat Stanley but are perfect for the holiday season. Students and families love taking their flat gingerbread friend home for a fun visit!
There are also follow up comparison worksheets to go with all your favorite gingerbread stories; Gingerbread Girl, Gingerbread Boy, Gingerbread Man, Gingerbread Pirates and Jan Brett's Gingerbread Baby.
In math use the Gingerbread fact family craftivity. Students color in and cut out 3 numbered gingerbread men. Have them complete the fact family worksheet and then they can build the gingerbread house using the rectangle and triangle templates included. Students enjoy decorating their houses with candy. The finished houses make a fun decorative math bulletin board display.
