The packet is based off the many wonderful gingerbread books available. This activity packet includes a fun math glyph for your students. They will create a gingerbread person based on their answers to several questions. You can choose to print glyph materials in full color or onto colored construction paper using the black & white versions.
Students can also read two versions of gingerbread texts independently or as a whole class. They can then compare and contrast story elements and other information found within the texts. My students love doing this during the winter season! The packet includes Venn diagram bulletin board materials and student worksheets in black and white & color.
The packet has all the materials you need to create a bulletin board of both activities. I love to do the compare and contrast activities during Reading Workshop and then finish the unit by creating the glyph, which can be created during Math or a holiday celebration!
This 31-page packet is a .pdf and provides full color and black & white glyph, poem, and bulletin board pages.
