The Gingerbread Man is a unit of study in kindergarten that has been around forever. I am sure everyone has their tried-and-true favorite activities when reading these books. My kids sure do love comparing the different versions and adventures of the Gingerbread Man.
I made these new activities to add a little SPICE to this "oldie but goodie" unit.
There are three activities in this unit:
1. Book Reviews: Students will write a book review on one version of the Gingerbread Man (2 versions so you can differentiate)
2. Gum-drop Spelling: Students will build high-frequency words with gum-drops and write them on a recording sheet.
3. Peppermint Measuring: Students will create a gingerbread boy or girl, then use peppermints to measure how tall it is. There is also an "exit slip" included, for students to analyze one another's measurements.
