Your kids will have a blast using math and science terms and skills to build a gingerbread hibernation home. They will also use higher order thinking skills as they think about why animals need to seek shelter for the winter months. CCSS aligned, just print, copy, gather your materials, and you're all set!

*Give each group of kids a set of gingerbread house making materials and assign each group a hibernating animal to build a shelter for. They will start filling in the mini-book before building the shelter, and then fill in the remaining information after the shelter has been created. You may want to give them pictures of what each animal's hibernation home looks like in nature, or just let them use their imagination!
