Therapy ideas for how to use the Gingerbread man file folder activity with your students:

❤️Use the visual sentence frames to help your students build novel utterances while working on story retell and building vocabulary and grammar.
❤️For your students that struggle with story comprehension and retell, use the file folder as a visual guide during the therapy session. The SLP or educator can facilitate wh- questions and sequencing with the visual supports. Students can interact by choosing which picture happens next in the story to increase engagement during the lesson.
❤️Pair this story and activity with your student's AAC device or communication book. Teach the CORE vocabulary of "go," "want," and "no." You can also teach the fringe vocabulary of "chase" and "catch," which are words y our students can use on the playground and during physical education activities.
