Based on the book by Laura Murray, this is a fun way to review with students the different sections of your library! While the activity was inspired by the book: Gingerbread Man Loose in the School, you could really use any gingerbread fable to work with this activity!
Students will work in teams (or individuals, depending on the size group) and be handed clues so they can help the Gingerbread Man find all his missing pieces! Clues will lead students to different areas of the library you want to highlight with students (nonfiction, fiction, biography, etc). Also included are blank cards you can program yourself to personalize it to your library.
Once students follow the clues and find all the parts, they can assemble the parts to make the Gingerbread Man whole once more!
Also included are suggestions for follow up activities after students have checked out their books to go along with the activity.
