Supplemental math activities to go along with your gingerbread theme! Activities are aligned with Kindergarten Math CCSS.
Gingerbread Measuring: Print on cardstock, laminate, and cut apart. Use Unifix cubes, snap blocks, paper clips, links, or whatever you choose to measure the pictures. Two recording sheets are included. One can be used to record the measurement. The other can be used to expand on greater than/less than concepts.
Gingerbread Cookie Shapes: Print on cardstock, laminate, and cut apart. Match the shape on the gingerbread man to the shape on the pan. Students can match only, play like memory, or find the partner with the matching card. Shapes included are circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle, trapezoid, rhombus, hexagon, pentagon, crescent, octagon, and heart.
Gingerbread Man Shapes: These are the shapes from Dr. Jean’s “Shape-a-Loo” song. I have students hold a card up when that particular shape is sung about during the song. A simple matching/memory game could also be played.
Gingerbread I have Who has Game: Two versions of this game are included, one with basic shapes and one with more difficult. Any card can start. That card will also be the ending card.
Gingerbread Man Patterning: Three different pages are included. Choose any type of pattern and color. Also a cut and paste version is included.
Gingerbread Number and 10 Frame Matching: 1-10: Print on cardstock. Cut apart the gingerbread men. Match the gingerbread men to the corresponding 10 frame on the cookie sheet. A recoding sheet is included for independent practice or to check for understanding.
Gingerbread Man Positional Word Emergent Reader: Student glue on gingerbread men according to the directions on the page. Works on the prepositions: on, in, under, above, beside, inside, between, and below.
