The Gingerbread Man readers' theater script is perfect for first grade and kindergarten readers. The repetitive text in the script makes it easy to read. It is is the perfect supplement to a class study of the Gingerbread Man, folktales, or Christmas! It works great for shared reading, as a follow-up for guided reading, or for fluency practice.

This Readers' Theater script includes 8 parts:

• Narrator
• Old Woman
• Old Man
• Gingerbread Man
• Pig
• Cow
• Horse
• Fox

Each part is color-coded on the script, making it easier for early readers to follow along and identify their part. The font is selected specifically for beginning readers, easy-to-read with plenty of space between words. If you have fewer than 8 readers, it works well to allow some children to have two of the smaller roles (the farm animals, the old woman, or the old man.)

Also included are crowns for each of the characters (with a choice of a boy or girl for the narrator.) The crowns can easily be attached to sentence strips for a performance. Alternately, there are small oval cards for each character that teachers may use as stick puppets or a necklace.

To use these scripts for partner reading or center work, bind them in a pocket folder and add the included title labels.
