Product Description
Developmentally appropriate Gingerbread math centers for the preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classroom! This resource is perfect for all developmental and cognitive levels of early childhood. The centers are fun, engaging, and offer challenges and reinforcement of basic skills.

This resource is set up with 3 levels of developmentally appropriate Numeral Identification and Counting centers for the early childhood classroom. Every class is different, every student is different, so this resource gives you the option of starting out slowly, building on what your students know, and offering a challenge as skills are mastered.

Centers included:

Level 1: Gingerbread Count & Match

This beginning level starts us off on the foundation that all numbers represent a quantity. Students will count the images on one set of cards and match the amount shown to a number on a different card. This center can be leveled as well. I have included numbers 0-20. I would choose 0-5 for a beginning level, move up to 0-10, 0-15, and 0-20 as the class progresses. Choose how far to go with your students based on what they can accomplish with some amount of challenge.

Level 2: Count & Find the Number1

This center activity builds on the first by counting gingerbread friends in the center of a card that is surrounded by numbers 1-10. Students use their base knowledge of numbers and corresponding quantities to mark the correct number after they have successfully counted the gingerbread friends in the center of each card. The level of difficulty is increased by having a broad range of numbers to choose for each quantity counted.

Level 3: Count the Candies

This activity builds on the first two. Students will see a number and then count out the correct quantity of candies to fill the 10-frame. It also introduces the idea of a 10-frame without making it the focus. Students can count blank spaces as well as filled spaces for added learning and critical thinking.

Find the Center activity that works best for your students.
