Product Description
Developmentally appropriate Gingerbread math centers for the preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classroom! This resource is perfect for all developmental and cognitive levels of early childhood. The centers are fun, engaging, and offer challenges and reinforcement of basic skills.

This resource is set up with 3 levels of developmentally appropriate More, Less and The Same centers for the early childhood classroom. Every class is different, every student is different, so this resource gives you the option of starting out slowly, building on what your students know, and offering a challenge as skills are mastered.

Centers included:

Level 1: Make it Match!

This beginning level starts us off with the equal sign and making equal sets. This center teaches students that the equal sign just means “the same”, getting them ready for algebra later on in life! Students will count gingerbread houses on one side of their mat and make ”the same” (equal) amount of gingerbread friends on the other side. This teaches making equal sets!

Level 2: More, Less, the Same!

This center activity builds on the first by introducing the greater than(more) and less then (less) signs along with the equal sign. This center we will make equal or “the same” sets, but we will also explore what is more and what is less than quantities 1-10. There are many answers and many ways for kids to feel successful!

Level 3: Clip More/Less

This activity builds on the first two. This activity has cards with a quantity in a big square and two different quantities in two smaller squares-neither of which is equal, or the same. You can decide if you want your students to find and clip the quantity that is “more” or “less” than the pictured quantity. This can be an abstract concept, so go slowly and don’t introduce if the first two centers could not be completed successfully.

Find the Center activity that works best for your students.

Happy Holidays!
