What educators are saying

I used this resource for center work in my self-contained asd class. The kids loved it! It was very engaging and hands on for them.

Your writing center will be a sweet treat for students this Christmas with these gingerbread writing activities! Have students use alphabet and sight word cards to practice writing letters and words in fun, meaningful ways.

How Do I Use the Alphabet and Sight Words Cards?

Here are three different ways to use the cards to make a writing center:

Idea #1: Make a mixture of dark brown sugar, salt and a bit of flour (recipe included). Have students write the letters or words in the mixture using their finger, a pencil or a candy cane! This activity is great for tactile and kinesthetic learners.

Idea #2: Print and laminate the gingerbread house writing card. Have students use a dry erase marker to practice writing the letters or words on the gingerbread house.

Idea #3: Have students use one of the ten print-and-go recording sheets with the letter and sight word cards. There are four sheets for letters and six sheets for sight words. Each sheet provides a different activity to do with the letters or words.
