You’re teaching lower primary and everything is sailing along smoothly until.....the girl fights start! What is it about girls and exclusion? I got tired of playing Judge Judy during my lunch time, so I came up with this idea which seemed to sort my girls out.
They realised exclusion was not an option, so after a brief discussion with me about sorting the problem out, all of the girls in the ‘group’ decided to wear a badge at lunch to remind them to listen to what was coming out of their own (not others) mouths. As the girls were in lower primary, it worked a trick, and they didn't seem to mind wearing the badges while they were reminding themselves how to talk to friends :) They’ll need your help while they develop friendship skills, so I've included a few cute question and modelling cards to help. Try it and see how it goes.
