Students will act as advisers to President Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis!
This activity includes six different scenarios--each with just a piece of information about the Cuban Missile Crisis! Students will read the scenarios and decide how they'll advise Kennedy to act.
This activity also includes directions and summarizing questions.
Typically, I would have students work in pairs or small groups to look over their scenario. They'd read through the facts they were given and write a brief plan of action to answer the question: How would you advise Kennedy to act during this crisis?
This is a great way to help students understand the possible outcomes of the Crisis. Here's an interactive, student-centered activity to get students engaged with the past and acting like national security advisers!
