THIS RESOURCE IS FORMATTED IN BLACK AND WHITE TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR COPYING PREFERENCES!
Your students will get plenty of practice in addition and subtraction as they compose and decompose 3 digit number sentences in this activity. As students solve number sentences on each dog bone, they match the sums and differences to "awaiting" dogs on correlating number mats--
I've included a printable student answer document for students to record their answers to assist with issues of student accountability (very helpful for students who do not always utilize their time effectively and efficiently) as well as a traditional answer key to make grading "teacher friendly" and convenient.
This resource will be a wonderful math center activity and will last for many sessions : 5 sets of activities that are differentiated in levels of difficulty to address your students' needs.
You can never have too many of these types of activities to keep students involved in meaningful and authentic practice.
