Product Description
Students research the history of glass mosaics, how they are made, and then look at the work of glass mosaic artists. I have used left over glass pieces from glass slumping, but you can also ask in the community for scrap pieces of glass from stained glass work; there is a stained glass store in my community that will donate their scrap when asked. If you do not have a glass grinder to smooth the sharp edges, you can use sand paper on blocks to do the same job. Students will create their image glueing their glass piece in place on a piece of plywood, then they will grout their final image when the glue is dry.
