Included in this package are the notes, vocabulary activities and short answer response questions (I call them "note checks") I use in my classroom when teaching both 9th and 10th grade Global History and AP World History in Upstate NY.
Contained in this file are the following:
1 - Completed Notes & Guided Notes - broken down by section in order to help students digest the information in manageable chunks (*please see below to see the content that is covered in each section for this unit)
2 - Note Checks - short answer & discussion questions that require higher order thinking skills that go beyond a mere regurgitation of the facts. These are also broken down by section and follow the content contained in the notes.
(On a personal note, these note check questions contain the content I am most proud of. These questions have led to fantastic responses and discussions inside my classroom these past few years. These discussions have done wonders for my students in helping them attain a deeper understanding of some of the bigger picture historical concepts that often get lost.)
3 - Vocabulary Builder - based on the Marzano model, students define, define in their own terms, use in a sentence and draw a visual representation of the most important terms in the unit

- River Valley Civilizations Graphic Organizer
