The rubric for the notes and presentation aspect for my end-of-Unit 23 project on the ideas of the Scientific Revolution.
Students are divided into 6 groups based on recently covered revolutions
- Scientific, Enlightenment, Agrarian, Industrial, French, Latin American Revolutions
Students use their notes and computer research to describe how the thinking methods introduced by the Scientists (Observation, Reason, Logic, Experimentation) were applied to multiple revolutions throughout history.
Students work in groups of 4-5 creating a large poster with organized information and illustrations for their particular revolution. Groups then present to the class, while the class records notes on a pre-made graphic organizer.
The final component of the project is an essay in which students must choose at least two revolutions to describe in detail.
The poster, notes, and paper are separately-graded components of this project, which takes 3-4 days to complete (the paper is scaffolded in class but intended to be completed as a homework assignment).
