I developed this lesson as the seventh in a series for a survey-style Global History course for summer school that was intended to assist students succeed at the August Regents. Through the lens of the question, "Which ancient civilization left the greatest legacy?", students are introduced to the key contributions of the Qin, Tang, and Song dynasties, then challenged to compare those to the contributions of previously-studied ancient civilizations. The lesson culminates in a 'tourism poster' for their selected civilization and/or a DBQ Essay, if desired (prompt is there, specific documents are not). The PowerPoint and lesson plan are attached, including a visual glossary for the contributions of Ancient China.
