I developed this lesson as the tenth in a series for a survey-style Global History course for summer school that was intended to assist students succeed at the August Regents. Through the lens of the question, "Where did we get religion from?", students are introduced to the world's major polytheistic and monotheistic religions, as well as the vocabulary necessary to discuss them. The lesson includes an activity where students debate their own moral codes, and culminates in an artistic project that requires students to display their understanding of the key tenets of multiple studied religions. Two PowerPoints and lesson plan are attached, including a graphic organizer to remember the major elements of each of the religions. One of the PowerPoints can be used as the 'data' necessary for the gallery walk.
