Product Description
This year, the world’s population has hit 7.6 billion. How big is that anyways? Use this 3-part project to make that number real for your students.

Your students will end this project able to:
- See and articulate for themselves exactly what 7.6 billion looks like
- Annotate and analyze news sources on the topic
- Develop their own display using the perfect pairing of calculation and creativity

Greatness is appreciating what separates and connects one’s self with the rest of the world.

A million is beyond the comprehension of the human brain. How in the world can we truly understand what 7.6 billion looks like then?

Simple when you use a little math and a lot of creativity.

Guide your students through an opening simulation using grains of rice and gallon milk jugs, then enrich their grasp with various news articles and short videos (links included!), before embarking them to create their own creative display of what 7.6 billion really looks like!

If the average person consumes 2,000 calories a day and lives to be 75 years old, it would take 138 people a lifetime to consume 7,600,000,000 calories!

This 3-4 day project is great to keep on hand for those odd short weeks, the last few days before a break, or for a multiple-day sub in your geography, global issues, or world history class!
