This Cornell Notes style worksheet goes with the documentary, The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning. It consists of 41 teacher-made questions that follow along with the 52 minute documentary available on YouTube (and many other sites). This award winning documentary focuses on climate change using AMAZING cinematography with "a rare glimpe of the Earth's most undiscovered continent."
This .pdf document includes a blank copy and an answer key. Questions are mostly lower-order thinking questions to keep students focused while watching the video. The last question is a higher-order, paragraph response summary question.
This is an excellent activity to leave for a sub to keep students engaged for a class period or as an introduction to a highly debated topic.
"Winner of three international environmental film awards: The Silver Sierra Award (Yosemite International Film Festival, USA), Best Environmental & Ecology Film (International Film festival Ireland) and Best Climate Change Film (New Delhi Environmental & Wildlife Film Festival, India)."
"The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning is a one-hour HD documentary that will go to the source of the climate change crisis: Antarctica. Here we will explore first-hand the environmental challenges facing that frozen continent and, by extension, the world."
