PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Have your students discover why a globe is more accurate than any map they may see! Why show students a bunch of distorted maps when you can explain firsthand the reasoning behind a globes accuracy?

This lesson allows students the opportunity to actively determine whether a map (2D) or globe (3D) is more accurate. Students will be peeling an orange in order to provide justification for their answers.

This lesson would be a perfect introduction to map distortions as well. They will also be able to practice identifying the major latitude and longitude lines of the Earth such as the Tropic of Cancer.

The lesson comes with a student question sheet as well as a teacher answer key.
