"Race to Glucose" is a semi-electronic board game that allows students to review common metabolic pathways involving glucose, including gluconeogenesis, glycolysis, and the citric acid (TCA) cycle. Students race along the pathways, receiving quiz questions and responding to changes in biological conditions along the way. The game is suitable for any class in which metabolic pathways are taught, including biology and biochemistry classes at the high school and college levels. For a description of how the non-electronic version of the game was used with first-year pharmacy students, see Rose, TM. "A Board Game to Assist Pharmacy Students in Learning Metabolic Pathways." American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, 75(9), Article 183.
The zip file contains the Race to Glucose game board (pdf file), optional regulation cards (Microsoft Word document), and a Microsoft PowerPoint file with a clickable die and customizable slide decks preloaded with over 40 question slides, with answers, and 15 physiological condition slides.
