I love interactive student notebooks and my students do, too. I prefer for my students to use liquid glue over glue sticks because the elements stick better, but I found my students WAY overdid it with the glue. That’s how this lesson was born. It’s the first lesson I teach about the interactive student notebook.
All you need is an interactive student notebook for each child, and bottles of liquid glue. Just copy the following pages for each child. You may want to make it a bit fun and copy them on different colored paper. The instructions are right on the pages. Students will use the instructions to glue a full-size sheet, ½ sheet, and successively smaller components into their interactive student notebook. On the last page, there are two rubrics of different sizes that are the assessment of learning for the lesson. Students glue the rubrics into their interactive student notebook without the prompts and you use the rubric to assess them.
