Glyphs Throughout the Year, volume 2 includes 17 glyphs. For each glyph there is an explanation on how to make the glyph, the key, a writing frame to fill in about individual glyphs, a list of questions to post with all the students' glyphs on a bulletin board and a hunt paper for students to use to hunt for individual characteristics on their classmates' glyphs.
Glyphs are visual representations of information and fit right in with the CCSS Measurement and Data Domain of organizing, representing and interpreting data. Students make the glyphs according to how they answer questions on a glyph key. Then they use the glyphs to practice critical thinking skills through comparing, contrasting, interpreting, reasoning and drawing conclusions about the information represented on the glyphs.
