This cute game provides lots of extra practice reading silent e words. It works very well in an individual tutoring session or small group. It would be an excellent review of single syllable VCe words before moving on to another syllable type.
To play you will need to print the gameboard and cards. You will also need some colored counters (chips) and a die. The players try to get two of their chips on as many gnomes as possible. Students read the number of cards rolled, so this game provides lots of opportunity to practice decoding silent e words.
