Allow for your students to choose and record a goal on the post-it, that they would like to work towards. The goal could be an academic or behavior goal.
I have my students write their goal first thing in the morning. Now they can be reminded of what they are working towards and you, the teacher, can quickly see each child’s goal. If you see a student doing something to achieve their goal and making an effort, you can have them fill in one of the blank boxes with a “compliment card.”
