Are you looking for a way to help your students in their just-right reading? Are you looking for an easy way to help your readers set goals? These Tricky Word Strategy bookmarks are perfect for introducing a new reading strategy to your whole class or guided reading group. They also are a great tool to use in 1-on-1 reading conferences. Included in this set are
Lips the Fish
To use, I run a bunch off on card-stock and have them in my conferring notebook ready to pass out to kids depending on which tricky word strategy they need to practice to help them grow as readers. Students can color the bookmarks and keep them with their just-right books to remind them of their goal. Also, the bookmarks are a great goal reminder for you, the teacher. The next time you check in with students about their reading, they can pull out their bookmarks and have a discussion about how they have been using the strategy.
Also included is a set of 3 fill-in-the-goal bookmarks which are great to have on hand for students who need to work on something other than the tricky word strategies.
These bookmarks have really helped to streamline both reading conferences and goal setting in my classroom. I hope you will find them useful as well.
