Product Description
Black and White Version!

This is a speech therapy motivational tool I use with my students. Each scoop of ice cream has an objective and/or goal. The pages are able to be individualized by writing the student's name and the sound they are working on the spaces provided. When the students progress to the next objective/goal, they add another scoop. "Ice Cream Cone Builder" helps motivate the unmotivated students and encourages students to take responsibility for their own success.

I enjoy watching my students becoming motivated about speech therapy when I present this to them; they know what is expected of them and enjoy the challenge.

Laminate for reuse!

This product is also available with the scoops, cone, and toppings in color!

This is how I use this product in my speech therapy sessions:

If using the motivational page that is ALREADY IN COLOR, I laminate the scoops, cone, and toppings, and cut them out. If using the BLACK AND WHITE, I have the students color the scoops of ice cream, cone, and topping, and then laminate. I prefer to use tape to hold everything together as the student progresses through the objectives/goals. I also tape the ice cream cone to construction paper so they are not so “floppy” as the cone grows taller.

I personally like to have the student place the scoop on the cone AFTER they meet the objective/goal. One could also place the scoop on the cone to symbolize the objective/goal the student is CURRENTLY working on.

This item also serves as a great tool during ARC meetings. I show the parents and other educators what the student must do in order to meet a goal, and depending on the type of meeting, it’s also a good way to show them the progress the student has made since the last annual review.
