Help students become more aware of the strengths and weaknesses in your specific content area, or in a targeted skill (like study strategies or performance on specific question types). As they become aware students set achievable goals and develop a plan to meet those goals. Along the way students reflect upon their plan, identifying what is and isn't working to help modify their strategies. At the end of a given time (ie. month, quarter, semester) students reflect on their success and how they could have planned/worked differently. This is a great way for students to become more metacognitive and take ownership of not only their learning, but their own strengths to become more successful.
