In many classrooms, we allow students to take home leveled books, in order to work on strategies and fluency. However, many parents struggle with figuring out how to best help their child with reading at home. Methods that we learned when we were young have changed over time. Using the work of Irene Fountas & Gay Su Pinnell, I’ve summarized and compile goals for each reading level. These bookmarks can be sent home with a leveled book. As a child grows into the next level, a new bookmark is provided for at-home use. Please consult the work of Fountas & Pinnell for more information and guided reading instruction.
Directions: Print (in color, if desired) on cardstock. Cut into three equally-sized bookmarks. Bookmarks can also be laminated for prolonged use (returned and redistributed to other students).
