The complete Goals or Good Intentions Unit contains 3 Lessons Plans and a variety of supplemental materials. All lessons meet the National Health Standard and have clearly defined Daily Learning Targets/Objectives. Each lesson can be used for grades 7-12 grades and/or homeschoolers. The Unit is designed to take 3 days to complete (with each lesson being one class period – approximately 55 minutes). The unit includes 3 Lesson Plans, Student Worksheets, Teacher Answers, plus addition added teacher notes and resources.
Lesson 1 Future Me Includes these Learning Topics:
Students will learn about long term goals.
Students will learn this by selecting specific outcomes in 6 categories, (Health, Education, Career, Family, Future Mate and Financial security)
Students will be assessed by completion of the goal setting worksheet.
Lesson 2 Goals or Good Intentions Learning Topics
Students will receive a Goals or Good Intentions Worksheet to work through.
Students will learn why people don’t accomplish their goals
Students will learn this by discussing the choices they make
Students will be assessed by class discussion
Lesson 3 Path to my Goals Learning Topics
Students will learn how to write strategies for personal development, required to reach a desired future goal.
Students will learn this by describing activities and character traits needed each day to help them achieve their goals (the development of habits)
Students will be assessed on assigned written paragraphs describing the goals, strategies, and character traits necessary to reach their desired goals.
One Optional Work Activity – Quotes on Goal Setting
This optional activity Includes a list of 14 motivational quotes concerning Goal Setting. Students are asked to select their favorite quote and write a paragraph on why it motivates them.
