This game can be played as a large group or small group activity. In my classroom, I plan to use this as a LARGE group game by having each student come pick a card randomly out of the pile or a basket. If they know the letter they chose, we all "gobble gobble gobble" in celebration. If they don't know the letter, he/she can hold it up and ask for help. Once we know what letter it is, we'll "gobble gobble gobble" in celebration anyway!
In SMALL groups, I plan on playing it a little differently. In groups of 4-5, I'll present a card to one player at a time. They will tell us what letter it is. If they know it, they can keep the card. If they don't, I get to keep it. If they pick a "Gobble gobble" card, we call get to stand up and "gobble gobble" like turkeys and give that player one card out of our piles. Then we keep playing until I run out of cards to pass out. Whoever has the most cards in his/her pile wins!
I'm sure you can think of many other ways to use this game, so feel free!
