Take Home Activities are created to help support student learning in topics at school with their prior knowledge and learning at home. These activities support language, communication, concept and skill development. The activities are interactive learning opportunities to be completed with a parent and then brought back to school to share. Building connections between school and home strengthens student learning.
This take home activity includes a note to parents requesting students hunt for and bring a rock to school to show to the class. The note includes ideas of what parents can discuss during the rock hunt. This is a fun take home activity to send home the week before a science unit featuring rocks, geology or volcanoes.
