Social Stories are so amazing at teaching social skills!
Social Stories are perfect for reinforcing appropriate social skills in regular education students, students with autism, and students with ADHD. All of my social stories are written in “kid friendly language” and stories that I have personally used in my own classroom. The great thing about Social Stories is that you can use them in so many ways and I have included some suggestions on how to use them. I have included a page that talks about why you should use social stories in your classroom.
Going to the Bathroom at School (A Social Story on following bathroom expectations at school) is a story that can help students understand the expectations of use the bathroom at school. This story explains the steps that a student takes in order to use the bathroom at their school. It helps the students understand how to privately use the bathroom at school, in front of other students, in order to avoid embarrassing situations. This story can best be used at the beginning of the school year and use respectively until the contents are understood and even later as a refresher.
