The California Gold Rush! Kids are fascinated by the many who endured many hardships to seek their fortune. This internet scavenger hunt activity is a great way to keep your students engaged while learning about the gold rush, the prospectors, and the forty-niners. While completing this WebQuest, students will learn about the history surrounding the California gold rush as well as its significance in history and why people today are still so interested in it.
In addition, students will explore websites that share about the day in the life of a man or woman during the gold rush. They will use the information they learned to construct a journal entry from the perspective of a forty-niner during the height of the California gold rush.
