A Speech/Language Dynamic Assessment and Response to Intervention Unit for children ages 4-6 or functioning at that language level.
An effective assessment for English Language Learners (ELL) includes a Dynamic Assessment, including determining whether the student can learn new language skills as a level commensurate with other typical language learners. Additionally, as more school districts move towards Response to Intervention (RTI), it is also necessary to know if students can respond to interventions and start making progress after several rounds of direct instruction.
This unit addresses narrative and vocabulary information. It includes pre/post test data as well as a variety of interventions to work on the language skills being measured.
Please note that this unit is NOT standardized. It is meant to be an informal measure of skills and progress only.
