This activity introduces students to the idea that America's search for a "just right" government is similar to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
America started under the control of the British government, and this became too powerful. Next, they created their own government- the Articles of Confederation, but this government was too weak. It wasn't until the passing of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights that America found a government that was "just right."
This product asks students to create a comic strip to illustrate their understanding of America's search for the right government. Hints are provided for students to guide them through the creation of the comic, as well as reminders to include captions and/or speech bubbles to make their illustrations more clear.
Before starting this activity, students should have a solid understanding of:
- The American Revolution
- The Articles of Confederation
- The U.S. Constitution
