This comparative book study unit is filled with Common Core aligned comprehension activities and literacy center ideas to use with the folktale Goldilocks and the Three Bears
as retold by James Marshall and The Three Snow Bears
by Jan Brett. If you do not own Marshall's version of the tale, any traditional retelling should fit well with the activities included.
Students will identify story elements found in each Goldilocks tale, summarize the texts, return to the texts to answer specific comprehension questions, compare and contrast characters, and more!
Please note that the texts are not included.
The table of contents is as follows:
• Story Maps
• The Three Snow Bears Comprehension Strips
• Summary Sheets
• Character Trait Maps
• Venn Diagrams for Story Comparisons
• Compare and Contrast Writing Prompts
