This resource could be particularly useful if doing the Fairyland topic as part of the Curriculum for Excellence and using the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. A substantial amount of visual support has been used to aid reading and comprehension which is beneficial to all students. Visual support is extremely important for students who are new to English. A little book containing the story of Goldilocks and the three bears has been provided with 39 illustrated pages designed to aid comprehension. Too much salt and too much sugar in the porridge provides opportunities for discussion about healthy eating. Simple sentences have been used to tell the story which is written in present tense. Direct speech is used by the characters in the story. The examples of direct speech could be used as models while acting out the story or for speaking while using the cut-out puppets to retell the story. This resource contains an extensive range of worksheets, activities and surveys suitable for a wide range of abilities. Templates for letter writing and retelling the story / creating a different version of the story are available for use.
