My Poke Pictures packet was designed as a *fun* way to develop the specific fine motor-visual coordination skills that are needed for managing a pencil with precision (in other words, pre-writing). Kids love poking holes, and don’t realize they’re working on school skills. However, the original Poke Pictures use pushpins, so they aren’t suitable for many students to do independently.
I wanted something I could leave in classrooms for stations/centers, “my work's all done” activities, or even indoor recess. Voila! This packet is designed to use with golf tees (Pro-tip: use a short 1.5” tee for best grasp). So it can be set up with distant supervision for everyday use in the classroom.
This packet focuses on letter and number formation, with three more pages of pictures just for fun. As a school OT, one thing that bugs me about letter formation worksheets is they don't stress where to start/the movements for formations, or the little arrows and numbers are so "busy" that kids just tune them out. These use color-coded stars and dots to show the correct formation for each letter and number, which I find is easier for kiddos to see once they are instructed to look for them. There is also a set of grayscale enhanced pages, because we all know that color ink doesn't grow on trees. :-)
Suitable for PreK-1, Remediation groups, homeschool, parents, and of course occupational therapists, I think you'll find this packet really useful for promoting prewriting and handwriting skills with your kiddos! I hope you love them!

PS - if you want more of similar-but-different activities, check out my Mini-Dot Sticker Challenge activities - they can even be combined with this packet by using the tiny sticker dots instead of poking the dots for letters & numbers.
